“Mangrove” is the first furniture collection created and produced by Atelier TRITEMPS in 2019.
These exceptional pieces of furniture are edited, patinated and hallmarked by artist Arnaud TRITANT.
Using the codes of traditional art foundry, each model is produced in a series of eight (8) signed and numbered pieces.
from one to eight (01/08, 02/08…).
This table is numbered 01/08.
The aim of this collection is to raise awareness of the beauty and fragility of one of the world’s most threatened tropical forests, but also and above all of one of our planet’s most important biodiversity reserves after the Amazon: the Brazilian Atlantic forest known as “Mata Atlantica”.
Inspired by the fine, intertwined roots of the Brazilian mangroves, the Mangrove collection by the TRITEMPS art studio is a delicate, poetic re-reading of this fragile biotope.
Like petrified archaeological relics resurfacing from the depths, these pieces remind us of the inexorable passage of time and the need to preserve and enhance these treasures of nature. IMPORTANT MATERIALS AND FINISHES: Our pieces undergo a succession of complex artisanal processes, and as they are made from natural materials or complex metal alloys, there may be slight differences in color, patina or veining from one piece to another.
In addition, the color of structures is bound to evolve and develop a natural patina over time.
Structure and legs: brass The main structure of the Mangrove series is made of brass.
It is cast using artisanal processes that give it a distinctive texture and grain.
The irregularity of the air bubbles trapped in the molten metal gives the piece a unique character.
Each piece is then hand-polished to bring out the specific irregularities and reflect the light.
As in nature, the beauty of each piece lies in the singularity of its marks, a visual memory of the traces inflicted by time and the elements.
By deliberately accentuating these imperfections, the very character of the piece is enhanced.
All brass pieces are finished with several successive coats of Renaissance wax, a microcrystalline wax originally developed by the British Museum for the protection of works of art and renowned for its high resistance to corrosion and humidity.
WARNING: Even when perfectly protected, brass oxidizes and takes on a brown patina over time, an inherent characteristic of this alloy.
The tray: Dark cinnamon wood Each material used for our trays has been carefully selected to enhance your interior with noble and rare materials.
Each of the three types of tray represents one of the three species of mangrove found in Brazil: white mangrove, black mangrove and red mangrove.
Here, the dark cinnamon wood represents the black mangrove.
Made from noble dark cinnamon wood (Canela Parda or Canela preta), this dark top enhances the tabletop through its strong contrast with the brass.
As this species of wood is now almost extinct in Brazil, the tops are made from reclaimed wood; the satin finish is obtained by a successive mixture of oil and wax, totally ecological and guaranteed VOC-free. MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING Brass: Dry microfiber cloth – (with a few drops of white vinegar to restore brass shine) Stone and wood: damp cloth followed by a dry microfiber cloth.
Do not wash with water, or use corrosive or chemical products or wipes.
