Saturno lamp by Kazua Motozawa Postmodernist design in chromed steel Produced in Japan by Yamagiwa H 22 cm x ∅ 18.5 cm 1970
Lamp designed by Kazuo Motozawa in 1970 in Japan.
The 1972 iF Design Award in Germany made this lamp known beyond the borders of Japan and established it as an iconic design for collectors.
This lamp is the original version produced by the Japanese company Yamagiwa and was therefore entirely made in Japan (the German manufacturer Staff subsequently obtained authorization to produce it in Europe).
The original label and manufacturer’s logo are located inside the lamp, at the base of the socket.
Used as an indirect mood light, it’s perfect in an entrance hall or on a table in the living room, near a window.
It immediately catches the eye, even when switched off, thanks to the superb reflection of daylight on the chrome.
At night, the halo shadows reflected by the discs create a subdued atmosphere, like a classic Japanese lantern, with a sophisticated modern twist.
We have another example available, so don’t hesitate to contact us if you’d like to buy the pair – it’s a rare opportunity!
This ad only concerns one of the two lamps.
